The zucchini or courgette is a summer squash, of Mesoamerican origin, which can reach nearly 1 metre in length, but is usually harvested when still immature at about 15 to 25 cm. The Black Beauty Zucchini is a 1957 All-America Selections winner, this early and prolific heirloom variety has been exceedingly popular for its very dark green skin and creamy white flesh. High yielding open bush habit makes for easy picking.
